You and your colleagues are invited to attend a workshop:
Signature Skill Workshop: Playback Theatre
The Project for Community Transformation enhances the work of Milwaukee’s citizens and community organizations already involved in community transformation.
Tuesday, July 15
5:15 to 7:30 p.m.
Body & Soul Healing Arts Center
3617 N. 48th St., Milwaukee
Includes a light supper. Program concludes by 7:30 p.m. Donations of at least $5 per event help cover expenses.
In Playback Theatre, people speak about true life experiences which are then creatively re-enacted on the spot. Participants will learn how Playback creates a space for generous listening and creative storytelling, and learn where it can be applied to community engagement and dialogue in community organizations and projects.
Facilitators:
James Murrell is a community educator of youth and adults in creative improvisation in theatre and music, anti-racism and restorative justice circle process. He is the founder and director of Playback Milwaukee Theatre Company, an improv theatre company about "weaving our stories into community." He holds a doctoral degree in mathematical modeling/complex systems theory. James combines years of research on social collaboration and learning, creative performance practice, and professional and community-based teaching experience towards building social engagement and transformation.
Yvette Murrell is a dynamic catalyst in the community for compassionate social change. She is a facilitator, consultant and life coach for people in non-profit and government agencies, corporations, and educational institutions.
