Community Forum on African-American Education


May 20th, 2013 General Meeting

Calling all neighbors, property owners, and businesses to this important meeting.  The topic is on crime prevention, neighborhood strategies, and safety measures to ensure personal and property protection.
Guest Speaker is Bree from Safe and Sound.

The meetings is scheduled for May 20th, 2013 at Grace Fellowship Church, 3879 N Port Washington Ave from 6-7:30 PM.

Additional committee meetings will take place as planning for events is necessary.  Your input is requested.
Bree-Meeting focused on properting personal belongings and product identification.
How to ensure cooperation to clean up neighborhoods from elements that make it unsafe.
Shared contact information
Shared how to stay safe while walking around outside.

Betty-Getting to know who is in the neighborhood.
Cocooning as a strategy to learn your neighbors and who live in each home within the neighborhood.

Samuel-Shared health, safety, environmental concerns.
Pedestrian crosswalk, lights on Port Washington and tree and speaking up if you don't like where a tree is designated to be placed before it is placed.

Pastor Calhoun-shared the steps of leadership that we have accomplished thus far.
Passed out certificates to those who have completed leadership courses.
Discussed the next steps to organizing and set the next meeting date.
