Mayor Barrett announces the Department of Public Work’s FREE tree give-away this Saturday, June 28, 2014 for City residents and property owners. DPW has 1,000 free trees available for City residents and business/commercial property owners to increase tree canopy and help protect Lake Michigan and Great Lakes water quality. City residents and property owners can pick up their free tree(s) on Saturday, June 28 rain or shine from 8am – 11:30am at the tree holding yard at the southeast corner of South 6th Street and West Waterford Avenue, just south of the hoop houses. Enter at the gravel driveway on S. 6th St. For best selection, interested individuals should reserve their trees by completing the attached form by June 27, 2014 and returning to Bryan Simon of the Energy Exchange at bryan@energyexchangeinc.orgngeinc.org>. All trees must be picked up on Saturday, June 28 during the scheduled give-away hours.
