We at COA Youth & Family Centers are currently hiring for the following position: OPEN POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Title: Making Proud Choices Facilitator Location: Riverwest FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Earnings: $10.00 per hour Resumes will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 14. This position is responsible for facilitating the Making Proud Choices (MPC) curriculum in eleven COA programs (at nine locations). MPC is a sexual education curriculum focusing on HIV/STD prevention and pregnancy prevention through abstinence and condom use. 

It is a part-time (10-15 hours per week) position and is not eligible for benefits. Main Job Responsibilities 1. Deliver the MPC curriculum in a manner that meets COA’s mission, philosophy, standards and goals so that the program and services are emotionally, socially, and physically safe for all participants. Ensure compliance with grant requirements. 2. Develop daily/weekly lesson plans, organize space and supplies, and lead assigned groups and activities using established group work methods and the MPC curriculum. 3. Manage youth behavior through positive reinforcement, redirection, and progressive discipline as per COA philosophy and WACYCP Code of Ethics. 4. Model appropriate behavior at all times. 5. Maintain accurate and complete records as required. 6. Required to attend MPC curriculum training upon hire if not already fulfilled. Qualifications • High School Diploma / GED and at least 18 years old • Experience with group facilitation • Proven ability to instruct others and implement curriculum • Minimum of one year of experience leading at least one structured activity for urban, at-risk youth. • Philosophical compatibility with COA mission and youth work methods • Good organizational skills and strong youth management skills • Patience, positive attitude, and sensitivity to cultural differences • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality • Proficient in standard office software.
