From Office of the Mayor via Cavalier Johnson- Election Commission positions.

I am writing to ask for your support in ensuring fair and transparent elections on Tuesday, November 4.  The City of Milwaukee is currently in need of 500 additional Election Inspectors to staff the city’s 192 polling places on what will be a very busy and active Election Day.
The role of an Election Inspector is to check in registered voters, register new voters and monitor activities in the voting room.  Election Inspectors also support access to elections by providing accurate information and assistance to the public.  They also play an important role in maintaining order at polling places and preventing voter intimidation from occurring, or any disruption of the voting process.
Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m.  Most workers cover the full day, but if that is not possible, you can work a shift from 6:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. or from 1:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.
Election Inspectors are paid $130 for working a full day, or $65 for a shift, plus $21 for attending a three-hour training.  Training classes are provided throughout Milwaukee.  To serve, you must reside within Milwaukee County, be a qualified elector, and you cannot have a felony conviction.
Milwaukee’s Election Inspectors are highly dedicated and enthusiastic citizens that are committed to fair and accurate elections.  I know they would welcome and appreciate your support in this upcoming election.  I would too!
If you are able to assume this non-partisan and very important role, please complete the Election Inspector application available on the City of Milwaukee’s website at http://city.milwaukee.gov/election/Helpmilwaukeevote.htm#.U8mHPcuYaUk.
You can email your application to Election Commission Executive Director Neil Albrecht at neil.albrecht@milwaukee.gov, or fax it to his attention at 414-286-8445.
