Gallery Night in Bronzeville to showcase artist Leslie Dickerson
The work of artist Leslie Dickerson will be featured tonight in the Bronzeville District during Gallery Night at King Drive Commons Gallery & Studio, 2775 N. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Dr.
The event’s hours will be 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. tonight (Friday, July 26). The host of Gallery Night is the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corp.
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs said the theme of Ms. Dickerson’s display this evening is “The Dance of Life. From New York to Milwaukee.” Ms. Dickerson features works that vividly illustrate the life and wonder of the human form, and she uses a variety of mediums to depict human figures and portraits. Her professional experience as a design and fashion illustrator has played a major role in the style and spirit of her art.
Gallery Night will also feature live music and entertainment, including music by the Larry Moore Jazz Trio and a performance by the Hansberry Sands Theater Company.
The events are free and refreshments (provided by B.R. Smiths Catering) will be served.
