Let's give a warm round of thanks to Jada who single-handedly organized our Block Party this year. She has contemplated this since our meeting in June.
She is new to the hospitality/events committe and really had things planned.
She sponsored food, games, contests, prizes, and music. Her guest DJ Ryde cranked out the tunes.
This was a great follow up to the highlights of this month: wedding.
Thank you again Jada for planning an event for all of us.

Frequent Clean ups
Hello Everyone,
Our pizza treat for the firehouse on 27th and Capitol was delivered early June.
By the end of this week, we should have delivered our thank you card and treats to the MPD district #5.
We would like to thank the City of Milwaukee for its frequent stops to pick up debris and discarded items due to the flood. Please keep in mind, that you will have to spot check and sweep up any glass that has fallen out of the trucks unbeknownst to the drivers.
Also, thanks to our elected officials for making sure that FEMA and city volunteers came through to visit our areas to inspect properties. We trust that some of us will receive aid. In addition, the city has set up a volunteer office. This will help with the elderly and disabled members of the community who need assistance. If you have helped but are running short of time, please call 286-city to set up assistance for the elderly.
We would like for the students in the neighborhood to start school with at least a pencil, pen, folder, and notebook. These supplies are being sponsored by the Westside MBC, Pastor Darrell Marbley and Asst. Pastor Smith, 3427 West St. Paul. Please make sure to send in your count so that your child will be included.
Last neighborhood clean up for the summer to takes place at the end of August.
Remember to check Alderwoman Cogg's website for any upcoming district meetings and to view the milwaukee.gov (city link) for any updates from the Mayor.
